Final Project

With a semester full of hyper-conceptual projects, I decided to go back to basics for my final project.  Attempting to focus strictly on aesthetics, these images capture the geometry of shadows.  Working with negative shapes, light and dark, and abstraction, I narrowed down over 200 possibilities to these 20.  Although I attempted to be purely aesthetic, I can't help but realize that this project is still conceptual.  Looking at all of my images I realized that our architecture is bland and sterile.  Mostly concrete in shades of gray, our environment lacks character.  Even though I like the patterns captured in this project, it makes me miss the vibrant and colorful mosaics covering the walls and floors of Morocco.

Here's a shot of how they appeared in the Alcove Gallery.  The images below are ones edited out of the final display.
